Restoring, Importing a Wallet (not creating new)

 RESTORING A WALLET

Next, I want you to understand what happens if you LOSE your physical wallet (or delete the app). Does that mean your coins are GONE?!

Not if you wrote down your PIN # and Seed Phrase like a good boy or girl!

Simply download again or order a new hardware wallet and select the option to RESTORE or IMPORT a wallet. Not “Create new”.

Most people I know have made the mistake of creating a new wallet when they meant to import the old. It’s ok, but don’t be shocked when your coins are not there! Simply start over and select the correct option this time.

It is a wise extra security practice to send a small amount of a coin to a wallet. And then DELETE the wallet!

Oh, scary! I know! Then just download it again and restore it. And viola! There the coins are. Now you will have confidence in knowing you can always restore your wallet should anything happen. The blockchain doesn’t erase.

It is a nice thing to have that kind of confidence. I don’t even have that with my government or bank. (Thus, the main point of cryptos, in my view.) It’s why I don’t buy paper contracts on silver or gold, but the real physical metals themselves. I don’t trust third parties to hold my assets.
