Kucoin Exchange (Advanced)

This is an advanced exchange. It requires little information to sign up and allows access to many coins not on Coinbase. It is also a place to sell coins into other coins that you can send back to Coinbase.

I recommend watching tutorial videos to get the hang of it, or simply doing a session over screenshare so you can be directed as to what to do. This is more advanced than Coinbase!

 To Sell a Coin:

For example, how to trade a coin into USDC and withdraw the USDC to Coinbase.

1. Click Assets. If the coin is in your Main Account, click Transfer to move desired amount to Trading Account in order to sell it.

2. Once the coin is in the Trading Account, click Trade.

3. Type in Trading Password

4. Click on a number in the order book closest to the middle large number (red or green). It should appear in the Buy or Sell boxes. You can click the middle number, but it may take a bit more fees this way.

5. Click 100% or 25% and then adjust the number of coins you want to sell.

6. Click Trade History to see if the trade worked.



To transfer the new coin to Coinbase:

Go to Assets on the top right.

Click Trading Account —> Transfer coin to Main Account (Click coin name, click the blue number and hit confirm.)

Go to Main Account. Click on Withdraw for that coin.

Get the Receiving Address for that coin and paste it in. 

Have this stored in Notes, or go to the wallet or exchange that you want to send the coin to and click on the coin name and click Receive.

 For Coinbase, click Send/Receive button, select coin (scroll with double fingers), click Receive. Copy that address (click the small icon that looks like two pieces of paper) and paste it into Kucoin.

In Kucoin, paste in the wallet address.

Click Max amount.

Click confirm.

Confirm withdrawal and type in trading password, email code and Google Authenticator code. Done!



More detailed steps I wrote for a client:




KUCOIN


Login and have your trading password ready (6 digit pin) to buy/sell.


Assets —>  Main Account / Trading Account


Trade —> Spot Trading


Deposit / Withdraw



To Sell/Buy:


  1. Click Assets. If the coin is in your Main Account, click Transfer (on far right side of the coin). Move desired coin (click the blue number to move full amount) to Trading Account in order to sell (trade) it.
  2. Click the Trading Account, click Trade (on the far right side).
  3. Type in the 6 digit Trading Password
  4. Click the middle number in the order book (between the red and green numbers).
  5. Click 100% to sell/buy the maximum amount (or 25%… and then you can adjust the number of coins you want to sell if you like).
  6. Click Buy or Sell button.
  7. Click Trade History to see if the trade worked. Click Open Orders to see if the coin is still waiting to be bought/sold.

    If you don’t see it there (open) and it’s not going through in a timely fashion, click cancel and try this:
    - To SELL fast, click the top green number (closest to the middle #).
    - To BUY fast, click the top red number (closest to the middle #).



To transfer the new coin to Coinbase:


  1. Go to Assets on the top right.
  2. Click Trading Account —> Transfer coin to Main Account (Click coin name, click the blue number and hit confirm.)
  3. Go to Main Account. Click on Withdraw for that coin.
  4. Get the Receiving Address for that coin and paste it in.
    1. Have this stored in Notes, or go to the wallet or exchange that you want to send the coin to and click on the coin name and click Receive.
    2. For Coinbase, click Send/Receive button, select coin (scroll with double fingers), click Receive. Copy that address (click the small icon that looks like two pieces of paper) and paste it into Kucoin.
  5. In Kucoin, paste in the wallet address.
  6. Click Max amount and confirm.
  7. Confirm withdrawal and type in trading password, email code and Google Authenticator code. Done!


To transfer a coin FROM a WALLET and TO an EXCHANGE is similar to the above steps (instead of sending from Kucoin, you are sending from a wallet)…


1. On Coinbase, click Send/Receive button, select coin (scroll with double fingers), click Receive. 


2. Copy that address (click the small icon that looks like two pieces of paper).


3. Open the wallet. In the wallet, select Withdraw or Send and the coin name.


4. Paste in the copied address for Coinbase.


5. Adjust the amount you’d like to send and confirm the send.

  CRYPTO SECURITY Don’t leave your private keys just lying around. Please??! As soon as you write down your keys they are “sacred relics” to be cherished and guarded with ferocity! While we’re on the subject of “DON’T!!!s”, please don’t ever send any cryptos to a famous person who is “Giving away Bitcoin!” or some other coin.
